Accessibility
DwellTended should work for everyone who looks after a home, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom or other assistive technology.
What we aim for
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. That means text with strong contrast against its background, every page usable with a keyboard alone, labeled form fields, a visible focus outline, a "Skip to main content" link, pages that fit a phone screen without sideways scrolling, and messages like "Saved" or an error read aloud by screen readers.
How we check
We test the public pages with automated accessibility checks and by moving through them with a keyboard. Automated checks don't catch everything, so we also rely on you to tell us what isn't working.
Known limits
- The downloadable PDF of a fix plan isn't yet tagged for screen readers. The same plan on the website is fully readable, and we're happy to send it in another format.
- Photos you upload don't have text descriptions. The details read from them, like a model number or install year, appear as ordinary text you can check and edit.
Tell us about a problem
If something on DwellTended is hard to use, email support@dwelltended.com or use the feedback form. Tell us the page and what happened, and we'll fix it or help you get the same thing done another way.
